Our mission is to provide high quality, compassionate care for people who need screening tests such as colonoscopy or who have Gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms.

Paul Wetzel, MD

Hello everyone! My journey into medicine started with a fascination with physiology while working at a veterinary hospital in the bay area. While studying physics and biology at UC Irvine, I married a fantastic lady, then started medical school a year later. Our oldest daughter was born in 1997. During my Internal Medicine residency in Fresno, California, our son was born. We decided to wait until my wife was 7 months pregnant with our youngest daughter to start fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Kansas University in Kansas City. All 5 of us moved to San Luis Obispo in 2004 and I have been working here since then.

If you see me out surfing, mountain biking, hiking or playing drums at New Life Church in Pismo, be sure to say hi. If I’ve only seen you a time or two, I may not remember your name, but please don’t let that stop you!!!

Aimee Hoffman, PA

I have lived on the Central Coast for the past 26 years and I feel blessed that I can give back to my community through my work. My goal is to provide quality healthcare and make my patients feel cared for. I have a B.S. Degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Nutrition from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I attended Samuel Merritt University for my Physician Assistant Master’s Degree. I have worked in Gastroenterology throughout my 15-year career as a Physician Assistant.

When I am not working, I spend time with my husband and 2 children enjoying the Central Coast’s hiking, beach, and wine tasting. We spend much of our time cheering our kids on in sports.
